1st/2nd Classes School Tour June 12th 2019
We had a fabulous time on our visits to Craggaunowen and Funworld on our school tour this year.
In Craggaunowen we got to experience wool spinning and weaving with Aneka in the castle. We even got to weave our own bracelets.
Then in the Crannóg we got our faces painted with our own warrior sign. We had a chance to fight with real swords, do some wattle and daubing and play an ancient skittles game. We held a court session in the crannóg where we handed out justice to criminals who had stolen cattle and even murdered someone. We even got chased across the bridge by a terrifying sword-yielding warrior.
After that Stefan showed us various sights of interest around Craggaunowen - The Souterrain (underground passsageway), The Crannóg, The Brendan Boat, The Ring Fort and the Fulacht Fia (ancient cooking trough) and Togher (Iron Age Road). There was so much to do that we had no time for lunch.
After Craggaunowen we headed to Funworld for bowling. We had five lanes and it was really enjoyable. Well done to Sophie, Lexi, Jamie D, Jake and Andrew who were the five lane winners. We were delighted to get a cuddly toy for each of the lane winners.
