Our School Garden
We have three vegetable beds and a strawberry batch in our school garden.
This year (2017) we set onions, carrots, cabbage, kale, potatoes, beetroot, sunflowers and pumpkins.
Unfortunately the crows cleaned our potato seeds out one night. We set some replacements called Maya but it was very late to set them so they did not do well.
The caterpillars certainly liked our cabbage and kale as they devoured it over the summer.
The strawberries did very well and we also managed to grow 12 new strawberry plants from the runners.
The carrot crop was humongous and it looks like our soil really suits carrots.
The beetroot also does very well in our soil.
The onions also did well, though the carrots crowded them out so they did not grow as big as they could have. Next year we will leave more space between the carrots and onions.
