Infants School Tour to Grenagh Farm in Cork
Infants went to Grenagh Farm in County Cork on our school tour.
We saw lots of farm animals including cows, Emma the pig, goats, sheep and horses. We also got to see baby rabbits and were let rub them.
The farmer also showed us budgies, hens, geese and quail. The quail eggs were tiny.
Farmer Shane showed us how to milk a cow and we got to put on the clusters ourselves.
We got to drive around the farm on Tractor Ted and his trailer. The farmer told us about some of the trees and flowers we saw - fox-gloves, buttercups, elder tree.
One of the farmers also took us on a "train" trip around the farm. The carriages were made from old barrels. it was great fun.
After lunch we got to ride and race in carts and have lots of turns on the zip-wire.
It was a great day and we arrived home tired, but happy.
