First and Second Class are learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly. We will watch the caterpillars make their transformation into beautiful butterflies!

Our next two butterflies arrived on the 14/10/16. We kept them in the butterfly garden for the weekend.

The chrysalides were moved to the butterfly garden today. We can't wait to see the butterflies emerging in 7-14 days time! 3/10/16
The four other butterflies are still in their chrysalis but you can see the empty chrysalis left behind by the butterfly.
We can see the wings pushing through the chrysalis.

The caterpillars have climbed to the top and are ready to form into chrysalis. We have had them for two weeks now. 26/09/16
The chrysalides are beginning to harden. After three days they will be moved to the butterfly garden 28/09/16
The chrysalides attached themselves to the paper disc in the jar so we moved it to the butterfly garden and pinned it on. 3/10/16
The butterfly didn't open its wings much today as it was still building up energy after leaving its chrysalis.
