A time to sow - May 19th 2017
We're a bit late this year getting the school garden planted out. The spring has been particularly cold and dry so not ideal for planting. But the last few weeks have been much warmer, so the soil should be nice and warm for our plants. After the beds were dug up we added some plant food which is made from seaweed.
Today the infants helped plant the spuds, onions, carrots and beans - in between the rain showers. We also decided to try out sweet-corn, beetroot and radish this year.
The 4 strawberry plants in the small bed were left in over-winter and survived well They have just blossomed and you can see the small strawberries beginning to form where the blossoms were. They have now multiplied so that we have 10 strawberry plants this year.
