School Note 16th Jan 2018
Welcome back to school. We had a very busy first term and the second term looks like it will be just as busy!
Here are some dates for your diary.
We had our Internet Safety Parents talk on Tuesday the 9th of January which was very informative. The talk was open to any parents from the school and twenty parents attended along with Ms Fitzgerald and Mrs Butler. Ger Brick from Inetsafety provided the workshop for 5th and 6th class as well as the parents night. He will return on Monday the 15th for a workshop with 3rd and 4th class. Ger will forward his presentation to us which will be put on our school website. Log in details will be sent home by text.
Our school show is rescheduled for January 17th and 18th in the Community Hall, starting at 7. Juniors and Seniors need to be at the school at 5.30 and 1st to 6th class need to be there at 5.45 in their costumes. Any of the infants who have siblings coming in later can be dropped together at 5.30. Anyone who was in attendance on the night of the powercut can let Mary know on their way in that they were there on the night of the 13th as they have already paid for their entry. A raffle will take place on both nights and everyone will receive a raffle ticket on their way in. We hope we will have better weather conditions on the night to avoid a repeat of our opening night in December.
Parent Teacher meetings take place on January 24th and 25th. The children can be collected at 2.45 to allow time for parents to return to the school for the parent teacher meetings which will take place between 3.15 and 5.30; On January 24th those with surnames A-L and on Thursday 25th of January those will surnames from M-W. Class Teachers may contact you to meet at an alternative time if you only need to meet one teacher.
We will attend mass this month to mark the beginning of the new year and we will also mark Catholic Schools week before midterm. Details of this will be sent home once confirmed along with details of the school book fair which is due to take place in February.
February midterm dates: February 15th and February 16th
