Skip-Hop Oct 9th 2019

 Lee from Skip-Hop visited the school today.

Lee told us about the health benefits of skipping. He also told us about the sports stars that he has worked with  - boxers, Ipswich Town Football Club, Leinster Rugby Club... He has even supplied skipping ropes to Manchester City

Lee has been all over the world teaching people all about skipping - China, Brazil, USA and all over Europe.

We thought we knew all about skipping until Lee showed us lots of new skipping tricks such as - double unders, continuous crossovers, 360 degree turns, the Figure of Eight, side-by-side switching, the Double Dutch, chain skipping, the side swing.

It was amazing how quickly, after a little practice, we were able to pick up the new skips, even the infants. Skipping is also great as even the older classes can skip with the younger classes.

After lunch various people gave demos of the new skips they had learnt. There are some videos and photos below.
